Sabato 26 settembre, con la trasferta a Ferrara, inizia ufficialmente la nuova stagione di Mc Control Diavoli Vicenza.

Dopo una stagione ricca di aspettative, ma interrotta e sospesa a febbraio a causa dell’emergenza sanitaria, si torna in pista con tanta voglia di giocare, di ritrovarsi, con il desiderio di vincere e di battersi per tutti gli obiettivi e i titoli della stagione.

La società ha lavorato questa estate per costruire una squadra competitiva su tutti i fronti, puntando su un numero minore di atleti a roster, ma su un gruppo unito che può allenarsi e lavorare sempre insieme per crescere e affrontare al meglio tutte le varie sfide: campionato, Coppa Italia, Coppa FISR e, se ce ne sarà la possibilità, anche la Champions (parteciperanno  Milano e, in caso di 2 posti riservati all’Italia, anche i Diavoli).

Per far questo ci sono stati dei cambiamenti, in primis la scelta degli stranieri: dopo gli sloveni, Loncar, Simsic e Zerdin, sono arrivati a Vicenza due statunitensi, Nathan Sigmund, 34 anni difensore di grande esperienza considerato uno dei migliori del mondo, e Alexander MacDonald, 23, attaccante, e lo svedese Tom Wennerstrom, quasi 29 anni, nazionale svedese e con esperienze in Europa.  Tutti e tre si sono detti soddisfatti e felici di essere a Vicenza e che la prima impressione della squadra, dell’ambiente e dei compagni è stato buono: “Terminata la quarantena abbiamo iniziato ad allenarci tutti insieme e il primo allenamento con la squadra e la prima impressione sono stati sicuramente positivi – ha spiegato Nathan Sigmund. – Con i ragazzi c’è stato da subito un buon feeling e quindi sono ottimista per l’inizio della stagione”.

E poi è stato confermato in gran parte il gruppo dello scorso anno: il capitano Luca Roffo, veterano di questa squadra, bomber Andrea Delfino, per il terzo anno in biancorosso, Andrea Ustignani, da tre anni a Vicenza, protagonista in pista e fuori, Samuele Baldan, al secondo anno con i Diavoli, giovane di grande talento, Fabio Testa, altra vecchia conoscenza, Nicola Frigo, al quarto anno con i vicentini, nel cuore di tutti i tifosi, Claudio Tabanelli, da tre anni a Vicenza, i giovani Filippo Centofante del 2001 e Carlo Trevisan 1999, e a difendere la porta biancorossa Andrea Alberti e Michele Frigo, binomio affiatato e una sicurezza per tutta la squadra. A guidare il gruppo in panchina, Angelo Roffo, che non ha bisogno di presentazione e che ha preso da anni a cuore la maglia biancorossa e la sta portando più in alto possibile.

“Penso sia stato fatto un ottimo lavoro da parte di tutti – ha dichiarato capitan Roffo. – C’è stato un lavoro enorme sotto e tanti sacrifici che ci portano ad essere positivi e soddisfatti già prima di entrare in pista. Vedo gli stranieri allenarsi come se fossero dei nostri da tempo, positivi, con gran voglia di lavorare. Insomma tutti buoni segnali, ma bisogna continuare così e vedere già dai primi appuntamenti il responso della pista”.
– Sabato, infatti, si inizia da Ferrara.
“Ferrara è stata costruita per far bene, già da qualche anno si sta muovendo bene ed è sicuramente insidiosa. Insieme però ci sono altre squadre: Torino che ha un campo difficile e un anno in più di esperienza in A, Asiago che ha tre linee competitive e ottimi portieri.  Tutte squadre che possono fare qualche sgambetto e con le quali dobbiamo stare attentissimi. Non siamo ancora pronti e in condizione, fra quarantene e acciacchi vari abbiamo fatto un paio di allenamenti tutti insieme, quindi sabato sarà una prova importantissima, non tanto di tattica, ma di testa e di cuore”.

Per permettere tutto questo, i Diavoli possono contare anche per questa stagione nel main sponsor Mc Control di Camisano, senza il quale non sarebbero stati raggiunti i risultati di questi ultimi anni e non si sarebbe potuta costruire una squadra competitiva per questa stagione. Con un ulteriore plauso per aver scelto di sostenere la squadra anche dopo una stagione sfortunata e dura per tutti.

Un saluto va a chi non è più in biancorosso e lo troveremo fra gli avversari, e soprattutto a Fabrizio Maran, unico superstite del gruppo storico vicentino, che quest’anno non sarà in panchina accanto a Roffo, ma si dedicherà completamente al settore giovanile.

A sostenere la squadra ci saranno anche i tifosi biancorossi, formati soprattutto dai ragazzi del settore giovanile che non fanno mai mancare il loro supporto e che anche quest’anno, nonostante le nuove disposizioni sulla presenza contingentata al pattinodromo (possibile giocare alla presenza del pubblico, ma con un numero limitato di persone e una disposizione che tenga conto della distanza e delle misure anti-Covid), sapranno essere di supporto ai loro beniamini.

Appuntamento quindi a Ferrara, sabato 26 settembre con inizio gara alle 18.30, per la prima sfida ufficiale che darà il via alla stagione 2020/2021.

MC CONTROL DIAVOLI VICENZA: THE NEW SEASON WILL START FROM 26 SEPTEMBER.

After a season full of expectations, but interrupted and suspended in February due to the health emergency, we are back on track with a great desire to play, to meet again, with the desire to win and to fight for all the goals and titles of the season. The company worked this summer to build a competitive team on all fronts, focusing on a smaller number of athletes on the roster, but on a united group that can train and always work together to grow and better face all the various challenges: championship , Coppa Italia, Coppa FISR and, if there is the possibility, also the Champions League (Milan and, in the case of 2 places reserved for Italy, also the Devils will participate).

To do this there have been changes, first of all the choice of foreigners: after the Slovenians, Loncar, Simsic and Zerdin, two Americans arrived in Vicenza, Nathan Sigmund, 34 years old defender with great experience considered one of the best in the world, and Alexander MacDonald, 23, forward, and Swede Tom Wennerstrom, nearly 29, a Swedish international with experience in Europe. All three said they were satisfied and happy to be in Vicenza and that the first impression of the team, the environment and the teammates was good: “After the quarantine we started training all together and the first training with the team and the first impressions were definitely positive – explained Nathan Sigmund. – With the boys there was a good feeling right from the start and so I’m optimistic for the start of the season. ”

Leading the group on the bench, Angelo Roffo, who needs no introduction and who has taken the red and white jersey to heart for years and is taking it as high as possible.

“I think everyone has done a great job – said captain Roffo. – There was a huge amount of work underneath and many sacrifices that lead us to be positive and satisfied even before entering the track. I see foreigners training as if they had been ours for some time, positive, with a great desire to work. In short, all good signs, but we must continue like this and see the response of the track from the first rounds ”.

– Saturday, in fact, we start from Ferrara.
“Ferrara has been built to do well, it has been moving well for some years and is certainly treacherous. Together, however, there are other teams: Turin which has a difficult field and one more year of experience in Serie A, Asiago which has three competitive lines and excellent goalkeepers. All teams that can do some tripping and with which we must be very careful. We are not yet ready and in condition, between quarantines and various ailments we have done a couple of training sessions all together, so Saturday will be a very important test, not so much in terms of tactics, but of head and heart ”.

To allow all this, the Devils can also count for this season in the main sponsor Mc Control in Camisano, without which the results of recent years would not have been achieved and a competitive team could not have been built for this season. With further applause for having chosen to support the team even after an unfortunate and tough season for everyone.

A greeting goes to those who are no longer in red and white and we will find him among the opponents, and especially to Fabrizio Maran, the only survivor of the historic group from Vicenza, who this year will not be on the bench next to Roffo, but will devote himself completely to the youth sector.

To support the team there will also be the red and white fans, formed above all by the boys of the youth sector who never miss their support and who also this year, despite the new provisions on the contingent presence at the skating rink (it is possible to play in the presence of the public, but with a limited number of people and a provision that takes into account distance and anti-Covid measures), they will be able to be of support to their favorites.

The appointment is therefore in Ferrara, Saturday 26 September with the start of the race at 18.30, for the first official challenge that will kick off the 2020/2021 season.
